Team17 confirms August launch for Overcooked 2

Independent video games developer and label Team17 announced on Wednesday that Overcooked 2, the sequel to the double BAFTA-winning cooking game in the "chaotic co-op" genre, will launch on 7 August on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC platforms.
The AIM-traded firm said the game had been co-developed in partnership with indie developer Ghost Town Games, with the announcement of its launch was made at industry conference E3.

It confirmed the game was available immediately for pre-order.

Team17 described Overcooked 2 as a "chaotic co-op cooking game" in which players serve a variety of recipes including sushi, pasta, cakes, burgers and burritos to customers in a series of unconventional kitchens, including a hot air balloon, a magical wizard's school and another planet.

Players work solo or with up to three friends to prep orders while overcoming obstacles such as fire, collapsing floors, overbearing waiters and of course, the classic kitchen problem of floating work surfaces.

"We are thrilled to be extending our relationship with Ghost Town Games with Overcooked 2, further building on the multi-award winning franchise," said Team17 CEO Debbie Bestwick.

"Alongside our launch partners, we are delighted with the game and believe it represents a great example of our ability to collaborate with our partners, and generate exceptional gaming content, both for new games and sequels."
