Solid State lands exclusive UK distribution rights from VPT
Computing, power and communications products manufacturer Solid State has won a distribution franchise with power solutions firm VPT.
The agreement with VPT, a leading global provider of power conversion solutions for critical power systems in avionics, military and space applications, is for the exclusive rights to UK and Ireland distribution, including VPT's existing client base.
VPT has been active in the UK market for 18 years, building up a loyal customer base, and has a portfolio of products which do not interrupt with Redditch-based Solid State's range, thus offering Solid State to expand its reach.
John Macmichael, managing director of solid state supplies, said: "The VPT product range complements the existing Solid State power operations. They are an innovative, high quality supplier where we are confident that our approach will increase sales beyond the current run rate and broaden the customer base."
AIM-traded Solid State is a supplier of specialist industrial and ruggedised computers, electronic components, advanced antenna products, communications systems and battery power solutions to the electronics market.
As of 0940 BST, Solid State PLC's shares were up 2.08% at 288.90p.
