Asiamet adds non-executive director in 'first of several new appointments'

Asiamet Resources announced on Friday that Dominic Heaton has been appointed to the role of non-executive director, effective 26 June, and the company said there will be further changes to come.
The AIM-traded exploration and development firm said Heaton is a "highly experienced" mineral processing engineer with particular experience in feasibility studies, project construction, plant commissioning and mine operations throughout South-east Asia.

Tony Manini, executive chairman of Asiamet Resources, said: "As the company transitions from explorer to developer and ultimately a producer, we will continue to evolve our board and management team to best position for success in the next phase of our growth. In this respect, Dominic is the first of several new appointments to be made over the coming weeks and months."

Heaton spent seven years as the chief executive of Masan Resources and led operations and development of the company's polymetallic project in Vietnam.

Prior to this, Heaton was involved in overseeing the development and operation of a 60,000tpa copper project in Laos and the development of the Martabe gold mine in Indonesia.

As of 1221 BST, Asiamet Resources' shares were down 0.93% at 10.65p.
