Wey Education appoints human resources whizz as executive director
Educational services group Wey Education announced on Wednesday that it has appointed Tony Knowles as executive director of human resources after he joined the company earlier in May.
The AIM-traded company said that Knowles is a member of the chartered institute of personnel and development and has held a succession of roles at director level since 1996.
Prior to joining Wey Education, Knowles was human resources and business support director of Welsh private vehicle hire company Veezu Holdings Limited and worked as the vice president of global human resources at semiconductor manufacturer SPTS, where he aided the acquisition and sale of business divisions in Europe and the US.
The 56-year old has also held directorships at Abbey Taxis Limited, Bristol Streamline Black and White Taxis Limited and V Cars Limited within the last five years.
Wey Education uses digital technology to operate a non-selective fee paying online secondary school and also serves other educational providers, schools, local authorities and other public bodies under the brands Way ecademy and Academy21.
As of 1511 BST, Wey Education's shares were down 4.41% at 16.25p.
