OptiBiotix to show off new products and data at Swiss industry event

Life sciences firm OptiBiotix Health announced on Tuesday that it will display brand new products and research data at the Vitafoods European tradeshow in Geneva from 15 to 17 May.
The AIM-traded company has been developing new products such as health bars, muesli and natural fruit gummies with its SlimBiome weight loss ingredient, all of which will be on show to the roughly 16,500 industry decision makers from the supplements, nutraceutical, functional food and beverage industries who are expected to attend the tradeshow in Switzerland.

Stephen O'Hara, chief executive of OptiBiotix, said: "We are confident that our participation at VitaFoods will help progress existing discussions with corporate partners and open up opportunities in new territories for the manufacture and distribution of our growing range of products. Having both SlimBiome and LPLDL nominated for such prestigious industry awards will help attract commercial interest in our technology and products."

LPLDL has been nominated for the show's 'Probiotic Product of the Year' award, while SlimBiome has been shortlisted for 'Ingredient of the Year: Weight Management' after recently winning Food Matters's 'Best Functional Ingredient for Health and Well Being' award.

In conjunction with the showcasing of products, OptiBiotix said it also intends to display the results of human studies of both SlimBiome and LPLDL products at the event.

"Having a product with scientific data, which shows it helps to reduce hunger and snacking and most importantly changes a user's food choice so they eat less sweet and fatty foods, is really exciting. Hunger free dieting is now a consumer option and we hope that our wider range of products containing this unique formulation will help bring the benefits of SlimBiome technology to a wider international audience," said O'Hara.

As of 0848 BST, OptiBiotix Health's shares were up 4.25% at 70.89p.
