Flybe appoints former Wizz air director to board
Independent regional airline Flybe has added Heather Lawrence, a former Wizz Air non-executive director, to its board with immediate effect.
Lawrence, a finance and investment banking veteran, has worked at Credit Suisse and Citigroup Global Markets, where she set up its aviation and travel team.
She will join Flybe's nomination, remuneration and audit committees as she takes up the role left behind by David Kappler, non-executive director and chair of the audit committee, who informed the board that he intends to retire at this year's AGM.
Simon Laffin, chairman, said, "David's long experience has been of great value to the board and he has made a significant contribution to the financial controls and audit process at Flybe and we wish him well for the future. I am delighted that Heather has agreed to join the board. She has extensive experience in finance and aviation, which will complement the skills on the board."
Heather Lawrence, said, "I am delighted to join the Board of Flybe at this exciting point in the company's development. I look forward to working with the broader team and drawing on my past experience within the aviation sector to support the group in realising its ambition to become the best local airline."
As of 0920 BST, share picked up 0.090% to 40.04p.
