Director dealings: Clipper Logistics directors take profits in the millions
Steve Parkin, executive chairman of Clipper Logistics, let go of almost 5m shares in the firm on Thursday - the largest share dump by a director of the firm on the day, but by no means the only one.
Parkin sold a total of 4,872,000 ordinary shares with a price tag of £4.30 each, collecting a total of £20.9m as a result.
Since founding Clipper in 1992, Parkin built the firm into a global logistics services business and after the sale still remains in possession of 25.13m shares, or 25.1% of the company's total issued share capital.
Separately, chief executive Anthony Mannix and chief financial officer David Hodkin disposed of 498,237 shares each, collecting £2.1m apiece, and managing director Roger Peel parted with 250,633 of his own shares for a total of £1.1m.
Parkin said, "The management team remain fully committed to the business and are confident in the outlook for Clipper."
"The business is extremely well placed to continue its growth both organically and through targeted acquisitions. This placing will help improve the liquidity in Clipper shares, and we welcome the new shareholders that have come on to the register," he added.
Clipper Logistics posted a 21.1% increase in group revenue and growth 19.4% to its EBITDA in its interim results back in December.
As of 1500 GMT, shares had grown 3.08% to 469.00p.
