Scientific Digital Imaging acquires Quantum assets
Life science, healthcare, astronomy, consumer manufacturing and art conservation technology products designer Scientific Digital Imaging announced on Friday that it has now acquired certain fixed assets, stock, designs and trademarks from Quantum Scientific Imaging.
The AIM-traded company said the acquisition, effective 1 February, would complement the existing product offering of its Atik Cameras brand.
It had previously announced the possibility of the acquisition on 4 January.
"The group intends to move all the purchased assets from the US to Atik's manufacturing base in Lisbon," the Scientific Digital Imaging board explained in its statement.
Quantum's total unaudited sales in the year to 31 December were £0.5m, although SDI said it expects to achieve lower sales than that from the acquisition in the first year of ownership.
SDI confirmed it was paying a total cash consideration of $0.35m (£0.25m).
