Origin Enterprises set to lose chief financial officer

Origin Enterprises announced on Wednesday that chief financial officer Imelda Hurley has indicated her intention to step down from the board on 28 February.

Hurley, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, joined the Origin board in August 2014 and was previously chief financial officer and head of corporate social responsibility at PCH International Holdings in Hong Kong.

She leaves the company in order to pursue "other business, academic and personal interests" according to a statement from Origin.

Rose Hynes, Origin Chairman, said: "Imelda has provided strong financial leadership during a period of significant change and transition for the group. On behalf of the board I would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to Imelda for her invaluable contribution to the development of Origin."

Origin has manufacturing and distribution operations in Ireland, the UK and Poland which supply agricultural services and products, as well as holding strategic investments in consumer foods.

The agricultural services company has initiated a search for a new CFO and has also appointed Peter Dunne, who joined the group in 2016, as group finance director, effective immediately.

Dunne has prior experience working at board level and was managing director of group finance at Petroceltic International before joining Dublin based Origin.

As of 1126 GMT, Origin's shares were down 7.46% to 5.51EUR.
